Adoption of Improved Sugarcane Cultivation Practices by the Farmers in Karnal District of Haryana, India

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is an important commercial crop of India. and sugar beet are used for large scale production in the world. The present study was conducted purposively selected Karnal district Haryana state. There 8 blocks Haryana, out which Indri block were on basis maximum area under cultivation sugarcane. From list so prepared, 12 respondents from 10 villages constitutes total number 120 respondents. Majority 55.83% fell medium adoption level group, whereas 25.00 per cent observed high group remaining 19.17 formed low group. It hereby concluded that majority farmers having followed by level, respectively. Socio-economic characteristics like Annual income, Land holding, social participation Extension contact positively significantly related with extent regarding recommended sugarcane practices.
